The $8 FM transmitter that revived my old car stereo

My 2004 Tacoma has a tape deck that ate my last mix tape. CD player skips on every bump. I was about to drop $200 on a new head unit. Picked up a cheap FM transmitter at a gas station in Reno for $8. Now my phone's music plays through the old speakers crystal clear. Anyone else keep their stock stereo running with these things?
