My brother told me to skip the foam mods on my first build
He said the board would sound 'fine' without it, but after adding a $5 sheet of packing foam from the craft store, the ping was totally gone. Anyone have a go-to budget foam they use?

That packing foam is a great find! I've heard some types can get oily and damage the PCB over time though. I just use the cheap neoprene sheets from the hardware store.

Oily foam, huh... what kind of packing foam does that? I've never heard of that before. Is it like a specific type to avoid?
