Operator on site said the block trick keeps the line tight but I got more sway than I wanted at 60 feet radius. What do you all do to keep a pick steady when you cant see the landing zone from the cab?
Man, booming down is overrated for a 40 ton. That block trick keeps tension but it also lets the load build momentum and then it whips back on you. At 60 feet out you got no feel for it, so I ride the brake and bump the swing slow, then tag a guy with a radio on the ground to talk me in. If you can't see the landing zone, you don't guess, you get eyes down there. What's your radius limit before you just shut it down and reset?
