A retired operator in Tulsa taught me more in 20 minutes than my first year on the job
I was working a job site near Tulsa last spring when a retired operator named Ray came by to visit his old crew. He watched me swing a load for a bit and then said, "You're fighting the boom instead of letting the load tell you where it wants to go." He had me try a trick where I watch the tagline instead of the load itself, and it cut my sway down almost completely. I still use that every single shift now. Has anyone else had an old timer drop a piece of wisdom on them that just stuck?
