A hand signal fix from an old timer in Ohio that took 3 days to sink in
I have been doing a lot of blind picks this year, and honestly my hand signals were getting sloppy in the wind. An old timer in Dayton told me to stop guessing and just hold my hand flat like a plate when I want the load to stop, no waving. I tried it for 3 days on a steel job and the spotter said it was the clearest he had seen in months. Now I actually trust my stop signal again, which sounds dumb but it used to make my stomach drop. Anyone else ever have a small change to their signals that made a big difference?
