Overheard someone say Stardew is just a chore sim and it got me thinking
Last week at my usual lunch spot I heard two folks arguing about co-op games and one said Stardew Valley is basically a digital chore list with sprinkles. I almost jumped in but kept my mouth shut. Honestly I get where they're coming from after 200 hours in my main farm, the first 10 days of every season do feel like a checklist. But for me that routine is the whole point, it's like a security blanket where everything makes sense. I never thought about cozy games that way before, as something that can feel like work but still calm you down. Does anyone else have a game people call tedious that they actually find relaxing, and how do you explain it without sounding weird?

My buddy says Factorio feels like his calm little factory routine too.
