Found out my 200-hour farm save had a hidden mechanic I never touched

Was reading the Stardew Valley wiki last night after 200 hours across three farms and found out the in-game trash bear near the sewers actually gives you a reward if you feed it specific cooked dishes for a week. I always just ignored the little guy or tossed him a joja cola. Anyone else stumble on a core feature this late that made you feel like you missed half the game?
