My clippers died mid haircut on a busy Saturday
Last weekend I had back to back appointments and my Andis clippers just stopped working halfway through a fade. I tried swapping the cord and checked the outlet but nothing. Ended up having to finish with my backup trimmer and it took twice as long and the client was annoyed. Anyone else had their main clippers fail at the worst time and what do you keep as a reliable backup?

Bought a cheap pair of Wahl clippers as a backup after my own Andis died right in the middle of a busy Saturday, just like you described @troy977. I was finishing a high fade and the motor just gave out, no warning at all. Had to grab a little battery trimmer from my bag and it took forever to get the line straight. The client was cool about it but I could tell he was annoyed. So I got a basic Oster 76 off eBay for like 40 bucks and keep it charged and ready to go now. It's not as fancy as the Andis but it's saved me twice already when my main set started acting up. Makes me feel a lot better knowing I can just swap over without messing up the flow.
