I always used a regular towel to dry hair after a color service, but switching to a microfiber one cut my drying time in half.
I mean, I was doing a corrective color on a client with really thick hair last week and it was taking forever. I grabbed a cheap microfiber towel I had in my car instead of my usual cotton one. Her hair was damp, not dripping, in maybe 5 minutes. It soaks up so much more water without roughing up the cuticle. Has anyone else made this switch and noticed a big difference with certain hair types?

Wait, you just had a microfiber towel in your car? That's the part that gets me. I keep old towels in my truck for wiping down equipment, but I'd never think to use one on a client's hair. It seems so random to grab it from there. I guess it makes sense if it was clean, but my brain just pictures a towel covered in sawdust.

Right? My car towels are strictly for emergencies like spills or muddy dogs. Using one on a client would feel like grabbing a rag from under the kitchen sink. The context just makes it feel dirty even if it's technically clean.
