Burned $75 on a countertop towel warmer and it ruined my hot towel setup in Milwaukee
I run a small booth in Milwaukee and wanted that spa touch for facials, so I bought a towel warmer for $75 about two months back. It heats uneven and the bottom towels come out scorching while the top ones stay lukewarm, so I had to pull them out one by one and check them with the back of my hand. One client actually flinched when I put it on her neck, which is the worst feeling when you're trying to make someone relax. Turns out a $15 mini crock from a thrift store with a wet washcloth does the same job and I can control the heat by adding more or less water. I wasted $75 plus about three weeks of fiddling with settings I never got right. The warmer is now holding my extra cotton pads, which is a sad life for a $75 appliance. Has anyone found a decent way to do hot towels that doesn't involve a gadget that lies to you?
