A color client told me my foils looked messy and it actually fixed my whole balayage
I've been doing hair for 9 years out of a small suite in Grand Rapids and I always thought I was pretty fast with foils until a client named Dana said something that stuck with me. She wasn't rude about it, she just said the foils on the left side looked rushed compared to the right and it made her nervous about the finished color. I looked at my work with fresh eyes and she was totally right, I was slapping them in on my non dominant side to save time. So I started sectioning smaller, about half inch subsections instead of an inch, and I stopped trying to beat my own time. The weird part is my balayage came out way more blended and I actually finished the same appointment slot because I wasn't going back to fix spots. Dana has rebooked 4 times since and tips better now. Has anyone else had a client point out something small that ended up changing your whole method?
