Brought a $20 laser level to a sidewalk pour, never going back to string lines

Used to pull strings for every curb and walkway, took forever and kept getting knocked off by the crew. Last month I grabbed a cheap rotary laser off Amazon and set it up in the middle of the driveway, marked all my grades in under an hour. The catch is it needs a clear line of sight, so on windy days or tight corners I still break out the string. But for a straight 40 foot stretch, I'm done with the old way. Anyone else ditch their string for a laser on flatwork and regret it on a sloped slab?
