The push for all digital dive plans in my area has me worried we're forgetting how to think for ourselves down there.

When you say "forgetting how to think for ourselves," that's not quite my take. In my experience, digital plans help you manage complex info better underwater.

But hey, I get your point about digital plans helping with complex info. The thing is, relying on them too much can make our own judgment skills slip, lmao. If your device dies or glitches underwater, you're stuck without that crutch. It's fine to use tools, but we gotta keep our brains in practice too. I've heard stories where divers missed obvious cues because they were just following the screen. So managing info is one thing, but staying able to think on your feet is just as important.
