Spent $200 on a Kirby Morgan band mask that saved my teeth on a harbor job in Portland
I was doing bottom work in the Willamette River last month and a piece of debris slammed into my faceplate. The band mask took the hit and I walked away with just a headache instead of a mouthful of broken teeth. Anyone else had a cheap mask fail on them underwater?

Oh man, "piece of debris slammed into my faceplate" gave me chills. That's the kind of hit where you'd be spitting out teeth for days if you were in a cheap rental mask. I've had a knockoff mask fog up on me in cold water and I was so worried something else would go wrong. Good on you for investing in the band mask, sounds like it paid off big time. Glad you're okay and not dealing with dental bills on top of everything.

Huh, I mean yeah it sounds scary but isn't that literally what the mask is designed for?
