Found an old run of Astonishing X-Men in a dollar bin that's worth 5 times cover price

I was digging through a dusty longbox at a shop outside Portland last Saturday and grabbed a handful of issues for a buck each. Turns out one of them had a printing error on the cover that makes it a minor collector's item. Anybody else ever stumble on a hidden gem like that in a bargain box?

You've still got that grin on your face when you found it? I would. That's a hell of a feeling. I pulled a first print of Miller's Daredevil #181 out of a 50 cent bin once. Cover was dinged but the pages were clean. Sold it for almost two hundred bucks. Nothing beats that rush. Nice score, man.

Hell yeah on that DD find, that's a hell of a feeling for sure. My buddy Mike once flipped through a beat up longbox at a garage sale and pulled out a first print of Secret Wars #8 with the Magneto cover. The guy wanted a buck for the whole box, Mike gave him $20 and walked. He told me he couldn't stop grinning the whole drive home, kept looking over at the box like it was gonna disappear. Sold it at a con a few months later for like $400, bought a used lawn mower and a case of beer with the money. Best day ever for him.
