Blown $90 on a fancy pour-over kettle, drip coffee still beats it

Tbh, the kettle controls flow nicer but the coffee tastes the same as my $20 plastic dripper, so I'm torn on whether precision matters or I'm just bad at this. Anyone else ditch the fancy gear and go back to basics?
