Shot the same sunset in auto mode and manual mode, and one looked like hot garbage
Last week in Tucson I grabbed my camera to shoot this wild lenticular stack over the Catalinas, and I fired off one round on full auto and another dialed in by hand. The auto shots blew out the whole top of the cloud into a flat white blob, while the manual ones held every ripple and pink edge on the underside. So which do you trust for weird cloud shots, letting the camera guess or doing it yourself and risking a ruined frame?
