My neighbor in Tucson keeps calling every lumpy cloud a mammatus

Spent 10 minutes last week explaining that popcorn-looking pileus over the Catalinas isn't mammatus, it's just a cap cloud. Has anyone else run into people labeling any bumpy cloud as something dramatic, or am I the only cloud pedant here?
