Vent: a guy in Cleveland told me my brush was too stiff for a liner, and he was dead on
I'd been sizing every flue the same way for years, and when a sweep at the supply counter in Cleveland told me my poly brush was tearing up a clay liner on a 1920s house, I switched to a softer grade for anything older than 1950 and my callback rate on cracked liners dropped to almost nothing, so what grade are you running on the old stuff?

Thought my stiff brush was fine on old clay till I finally tried a soft grade and quit cracking liners.
