Pro tip: a bird nest in a 6 inch flue cost me 3 hours and a second trip to the supply house
Client in Rochester had a weak draft, so I figured a basic block. Pulled the cap and there was a starling nest packed about 18 inches down. Went to grab my rods and found my 6 inch brush was back at the shop. Drove 25 minutes each way, then spent another 40 minutes pulling twigs out a handful at a time because the nest had knitted itself around the flue tile. Second trip is what stings, not the work. Do you all keep a spare brush on the truck, or am I the odd one out here?
