Shoutout to the taco truck that made me check my math

I always figured the dollar menu at big chains was the cheapest way to eat out, but last week I did the numbers on a taco truck near my bus stop in Austin. Two tacos with rice and beans ran me $6.50 and I was full for the whole evening, versus the $9 I usually drop at a drive-thru for a combo that leaves me hungry an hour later. What surprised me is that the truck has a handwritten sign saying their prices havent changed since 2021, and thats when I realized how much the chains have quietly raised theirs. Anyone else found a local spot that beats the named places once you actually count portions and not just the sticker price?
