I thought the $5 rotisserie chicken was a trap, then I did the math on 9 meals
I always walked past the $4.99 rotisserie chicken at my grocery store in Reno because I figured it was dried out and full of salt. My neighbor Carol kept telling me to try it, so I finally grabbed one on a Tuesday. I pulled the meat off and got 9 servings out of it: 4 sandwiches, 2 bowls of soup from the bones, and 3 dinners mixed with rice and frozen veggies. That works out to about 55 cents a meal, which beats anything on a dollar menu near me. The trick is going before 6pm when they mark them down, because after that they sit under the heat lamp and get tough. What is your go to cheap protein where you live?
