My sister told me in April to ditch the $60 picnic basket and just stuff a blanket and snacks into a $5 beach bag from the drugstore, and our first park date in Riverside went fine until the bag tipped over and grapes rolled into the grass. Now I'm stuck arguing with myself about it. One side says the cheap bag wins because we actually go on picnics instead of leaving a basket in the closet, and the other side says a real basket with a flat bottom keeps sandwiches from getting crushed. So which is it, cheap and messy or pricey and used twice a year? I need people who've done this more than three times to settle it.
