A guy at the Des Moines farmers market told me the $4 flower stand beats a $60 dinner
Last Saturday my girlfriend and I were wandering the Des Moines farmers market killing time before a movie, and this older guy at a $4 tulip stand told us he has been taking his wife there every week for 30 years instead of out to dinner. He said the walk home with the flowers is the actual date, which honestly was a nicer night than the $60 Italian place we went to the week before. Has anyone else had a cheap thing like that totally beat a fancy plan you paid real money for?
