Stretch method debate: power vs. knee kicker for a big commercial job

Used to swear by the power stretcher for everything, even small rooms. Then I did a 5,000 square foot office in Charlotte last month. Boss insisted on knee kickers for speed. Honestly, the power stretcher gave a tighter finish on the long walls. But we finished a whole day faster with the kickers. Which tool do you guys pick for a big open space?

The boss was wrong, a power stretcher is faster on big open floors.

So what was the boss trying to save by NOT using the power stretcher? Time or money? Because on a big open job, fighting a manual one is a straight up waste of energy and slows the whole crew down. That choice just makes the day harder for everyone. Seems like a bad call if speed was the actual goal.

On a job last month, we had a 12,000 square foot open office layout. The power stretcher kept getting caught on floor transitions and door thresholds. The manual ones just rolled right over those spots. Sometimes the old way is just simpler and keeps things moving.
