Spent $320 on a power stretcher attachment, went back to knee kicker

Bought that hydraulic head attachment for my power stretcher after a crew lead swore by it for tight stairs and hallways. Took it on a 4 bedroom job in Portland and it kept slipping on the backing and adding 20 minutes per room to reset. Anyone else find these things only work on perfect flat concrete, or am I missing a setup trick?
