Pro tip: I stretched carpet the wrong way for 6 months and a $12 tool ratted me out
Last Tuesday I was doing a 40 yard berber job in a rental off Delmar when the homeowner asked why the seams were peaking in the hallway. I pulled the carpet back to check and the backing was still crimped from 6 months of me power stretching into the seam instead of away from it. Grabbed a knee kicker I had not touched in years just to feel the nap direction and it hit me, I had been running every stretch the same way since I started. Do you all stretch into the seam or away from it, and did anyone else learn this the hard way?
