Just realized I was aiming for the wrong kind of promotion
I overheard my manager talking to the VP about someone who got a senior role because they solved a specific recurring client problem, not because they had the most years on the team. That hit me hard since I've been chasing titles for the last 6 months. I went back and looked at my project history and realized I was volunteering for flashy stuff nobody needed. Now I'm focusing on fixing the dumb billing issue that's been annoying our top account for 2 years. Anyone else figure out they were chasing the wrong metrics for career growth?

Not sure I'd overthink it that much honestly.
