Just realized my $8 stove windscreen was worth more than the $70 stove it came with
Bought a cheap folding windscreen off Amazon for $8 to go with my Jetboil and used it on a trip to Rocky Mountain National Park in October. The wind was gusting around 20 mph at our site and my buddy's identical stove without a screen took almost 9 minutes to boil 2 cups while mine hit a rolling boil in under 4. I always figured windscreens were kind of a gimmick but that trip changed my mind completely. Now I want to know if anyone has tried the taller foil ones versus the folding aluminum style, because I'm wondering if I'm leaving time on the table.
