Dropped $300 on a bonded DSL line at my shop and it saved my card terminal, but the install was a circus
My office is in an old building in Cleveland and the cable modem kept dropping for 30 seconds at a time, which killed every card swipe at the front desk. Comcast Business wanted $189 a month for a dedicated line plus a build out fee, so I called AT&T instead and got bonded DSL for around $300 a month with a 3 year deal. It has been rock solid for 7 months now, no dropped swipes, no angry customers. But the install guy showed up 3 times because the second pair on the line was dead and nobody flagged it. First tech blamed the building, second tech blamed the first tech, third guy finally ran a new run from the box. If you run a shop with a card terminal, do you keep a backup line or just trust the primary?
