Am I the only one who didn't know most small businesses still run on connections slower than my phone?
I was poking around a report from the Small Business Administration last Tuesday and saw that a big chunk of small firms in rural counties still have upload speeds under 10 Mbps. That number hit me hard because I remember when a T1 line at my dad's shop in Akron felt like magic, and that was only 1.5 Mbps. Now I'm sitting here with fiber at home and half these shops can't even back up a folder to the cloud without waiting all afternoon. It makes me wonder how many of them are stuck because nobody told them what options exist now. Does anyone here work with a provider that actually covers the small towns, or is it still mostly call around and hope?
