TIL I was budgeting my grocery runs completely backwards
For like 5 years I would shop once a week and buy everything I might need, spending around $150 each trip. Then last month I noticed half my veggies were rotting in the fridge by day 4. I started doing two small trips a week instead, one on Tuesday for $60 and one on Friday for $50. Who knew buying less stuff more often would save me $40 a week and cut down on food waste? Has anyone else found a rhythm that works better than the old big weekly haul?

Buying less stuff more often" sounds like my ex's advice for my spending habits.

I switched to a similar pattern a few years ago and it helped a lot. Doing a midweek trip for fresh stuff and a weekend trip for staples kept my fridge from turning into a science experiment. Plus, I found myself actually meal planning around what I bought instead of just grabbing things at random.
