My carry-on wheel snapped off in the Madrid metro
I was transferring between lines at Tribunal station last month when the front wheel on my rolling bag just gave out. The whole thing tilted over and I had to drag it awkwardly by the handle for the rest of my trip. Cost me $15 at a local luggage repair shop to get a new wheel put on, but the guy there told me the plastic had gotten brittle from cold weather. Has anyone else had wheels break on budget bags and found a better fix than just replacing them?

In my experience, dragging a bag through Madrid metro is actually faster than rolling one.

lol @nelson.gavin is out here living in 3024 while the rest of us are still trying to figure out which escalator lane is for standing. Though I gotta say, every time I tried dragging a bag through Sol it felt like the wheels were trying to file a noise complaint against the cobblestones. But yeah, rolling bags on those uneven metro platforms is basically asking for a wrist sprain and a free tour of the floor.
