Found a hostel in Lisbon that let me use their kitchen for free if I bought groceries there
Stayed at this place near the Alfama district last month. Most hostels charge you for breakfast or make you buy their overpriced food. This one had a partnership with a local market. Showed my room key and got 10% off groceries plus free stove access. Saved around 40 euros over 5 days compared to eating out. Anyone else come across a hostel with a setup like that?

Golden find right there. I stayed at a place in Budapest last year that had a similar deal with a bakery downstairs. Got day old bread and pastries for basically nothing and used their toaster oven in the common kitchen. Saved so much cash I could actually afford to do the ruin pub crawls instead of just eating instant noodles in my bunk.

I stayed in a hostel in Prague that had a deal with a local bakery too... and honestly the day old bread was pretty stale by the time we got it. They were charging way too much for what was basically free leftovers. I ended up spending more on cheese and stuff to make the bread edible than I would have just grabbing a fresh sandwich from a shop.
