DAE think chasing loyalty points is the worst budget travel advice out there?
I keep seeing people say to pick one airline and stick with it for the points, but that locked me into $180 more on a round trip to Denver last month versus just booking the cheap seat on a different carrier. My sister saved $95 on the same route by ignoring points completely and flying a budget line with a small carry on. Points only pay off if you fly a ton, and most of us fly maybe twice a year. Am I missing something, or is this whole game just marketing?
