My broker's 'free trade' offer almost cost me $500 last month

I was checking my account with TradeStation (you know, just the usual monthly look) and saw a weird fee for a transfer I didn't do. Turns out, their 'free' stock trade promo had a hidden rule: you had to keep a $2,000 minimum balance for 90 days after signing up, or they'd charge you. I was $200 under for one day because I moved some cash to pay a bill. Has anyone else had a broker sneak in a rule like that after the fact?

Yeah but that's on the fine print, right? Gotta read those terms before moving money around.

My buddy learned that "fine print" lesson the hard way, just like you said, morgan.joseph.

People usually don't read the fine print, but that's exactly what companies count on. Shouldn't the important stuff be written clearly in the main agreement instead of hidden away?
