Warning: That time a church job taught me to always double check the brick size
I showed up to lay a wall for a small church addition over by Catoosa. The plans called for modular bricks but the supply yard sent us queen size by mistake. I laid the whole first course before my foreman walked over and just stared at me for a full 10 seconds. Now I check every pallet tag before I even mix mud, has anyone else had a shipment mix up waste their whole morning?

Man that's brutal, I got sent the wrong size rebar once and didn't catch it until we had the whole slab pour scheduled for the next morning. My foreman just shook his head and handed me a tape measure like I was supposed to have seen it coming. Makes you wonder how many times we've gotten away with stuff that should've been caught way earlier.

Laying a whole first course before anyone notices is exactly the kind of thing I'd do too, lol. I once spent two hours framing a window that was supposed to be 12 inches over because I read the plan wrong, felt like a real genius when the drywall guy pointed it out. Now I triple check everything and still feel like I'm one bad shipment away from another public embarrassment.
