Vent: I stopped soaking my brick trowel in water overnight and my mortar stopped sliding
Everyone on the crew said a wet trowel keeps mortar from sticking, so I kept a bucket of water on the scaffold for 3 weeks. Then a mason in Reno told me a wet blade just makes mortar slide around and weakens the grab, so I dried it off with a rag and my joints got tighter the same day. Am I the only one who was taught to soak the trowel?
