PSA: A loose brick at the Tulsa job nearly took out my knee last week
I was stacking a pallet on the scaffold when a brick slid off the top course and hit the planks right next to me because nobody checked the banding. Now I walk the stack and kick every course before I load, takes 30 seconds. Anyone else got a close call that made them change their routine?
Man, that brick had your name on it and missed on purpose. I had a stack of forms tip over on me years back while I was reaching for a clamp. Didn't get hurt but it scared me good. Now I give every pile a nudge with my boot before I get near it, same as you. My coworkers give me a hard time about it but I'd rather look silly than spend six weeks laid up.
