I moved my Venus flytrap to a north window and it quit eating, so is low light the real killer or just me?

Two months ago I moved it out of my bright kitchen in Reno to a shady north window, and now it won't snap shut on anything even when I dangle a live mealworm, so I can't figure out if it's the lack of sun or my tap water that's the problem.
