Showerthought: I finally quit a book at page 87 and it felt like a win
I picked up a 600 page fantasy novel in Boise back in March and pushed through 87 pages before I admitted I was bored out of my mind. Every night I kept telling myself it would get good, but by page 87 the main character was still wandering the same forest. I put it in the donation pile and immediately started a short mystery instead, and I finished it in two days. Does anyone else feel weirdly proud when they finally walk away from a book they were forcing themselves to read?
