Gave up on Infinite Jest after 6 weeks and 240 pages, then found out my dentist quit it at page 90
I was at my dentist appointment last Tuesday in Denver and mentioned I was grinding through Infinite Jest, and he just laughed and said he bailed at page 90 back in college. Six weeks of my life, 240 pages in, and the only person I know who even tried it lasted about a third as long as I did. The footnotes were fine, it was the 12 page description of a tennis academy that finally got me. Did you all finish it, or is everybody secretly lying about this one?
