The librarian in Toledo handed me a book I swore I'd never finish and it wrecked me
Back in 2019 I was killing time at the Toledo branch library and a librarian pushed a beat up copy of A Little Life at me after I said I only read thrillers. I got 200 pages in, threw it across the room, picked it up the next day, and cried in my car in the parking lot when I finished it three weeks later. Does anyone else have a book a stranger basically forced on them that ended up tearing them apart?
