Pro tip: skip the $34 iron-on spine cloth from the craft store

Tried it on a rebind of an old paperback and the stuff bubbled up and peeled off within a week, so I was out the $34 plus a whole Sunday redoing the spine with real cloth and PVA. Anyone got a brand of actual book cloth that doesn't cost a fortune, or is linen just the way to go?
