I thought a torque wrench was overkill for tube rolling, then a job in Gary proved me wrong
I always figured guys who torqued every rolled tube were just showing off, so I used feel and eyeballed it for 6 years. Then we did a boiler retube in Gary and the inspector made us torque to 300 ft-lbs in 3 passes, and none of our joints leaked on hydro. Are you all torquing by the book now or still going by feel when nobody is watching?
