One comment about slow burn pacing changed how I pick shows

I used to drop anything after two episodes if it didn't grab me. Last month a friend said I was missing the payoff because I never gave shows room to breathe. So I tried sticking with a 10 episode drama for six episodes before judging it, and the back half paid off way more than the start. Now I check review sites for when the pacing picks up before starting something. Has anyone else adjusted their patience threshold after someone called them out for quitting too fast?
