Can we talk about rewatching a show you loved 10 years ago? Does it ever hold up?

I tried to rewatch Lost last month after 12 years off. The first 3 episodes felt great, then the pacing just dragged hard and I quit by episode 8. My buddy in Chicago swears it gets better if you skip every flashback, but that seems like a lot of work. Do you stick with old favorites or do they usually feel dated? Is there a show that actually got better on a second run for you?

Skipped every Kate episode and loved Lost way more the second time.
