My friend took my BBQ rub to a contest without giving me credit. What should I do?

Honestly, I shared my special rub recipe with a buddy a few weeks back. Tbh, I just saw him win a ribbon at a local cook-off with it, and he didn't mention my help. Ngl, it feels pretty wrong since we always talk about honesty in our craft. How would you handle this without starting a fight? Any tips?

Last summer my cousin Mark did the same thing with my dry brine mix at a family reunion contest. I just pulled him aside later and said, "Hey man, that was my recipe you used, right?" It was kinda awkward tbh, but he apologized and bought me a six pack. Sometimes they just don't realize it's a big deal until you point it out calmly.

Funny how family dynamics change things, like @anderson.cora’s cousin just buying a six pack. A sibling might have started a lifelong grudge over that brine.

Yeah I read a blog post about recipe credit being a huge deal in cooking circles.
