Watched my cherry tomatoes split open and finally figured out I was watering them at the worst time
For two summers in a row I watered my balcony tomatoes at noon before work, and half of them split right before ripening. Last month I switched to early morning watering after reading that uneven moisture is the culprit, and I have zero splits so far. My neighbor on the 4th floor swears by a $12 moisture meter instead of guessing, has anyone tried one?
