Showerthought: the reason my sourdough keeps dying is I keep naming the starter after exes
Started doing this thing about 6 months ago where I name my starter after whatever person I'm annoyed with that week. First it was Karen from my old job, she lasted 11 days before going moldy on the counter in my Tucson kitchen. Then it was my old roommate Dave, that one actually thrived for a month, which felt wrong somehow. Last Tuesday I named the new one after my ex and it went flat in like 36 hours. My buddy swears the naming has nothing to do with it and it's just my feeding schedule, which is fair since I forget to feed it for like 3 days at a time. But 4 starters in 6 months all dying right after I name them feels like a pattern. Does anyone else do weird stuff like this with their starter or am I just losing it in the kitchen
